Industry Connect — Seminar Series
A semester-long seminar series featuring senior professionals from finance, technology, consulting, and manufacturing sharing real-world insights.
The Industry Connect Seminar Series is one of LEAD College's most consistent and impactful academic initiatives — a semester-long programme that brings senior professionals from diverse industries directly into the classroom, bridging the gap between theory and practice in a way that curriculum alone cannot.
The 2024 edition featured twelve seminars across the January–April semester, with speakers drawn from sectors including banking and financial services, information technology, management consulting, supply chain and logistics, and manufacturing. Each session was structured as a 75-minute interaction: a 40-minute talk followed by an open Q&A that often ran well over time due to student enthusiasm.
Among the most attended sessions was a talk by a CFO from a leading NBFC, who walked students through the real decisions behind a major capital restructuring — sharing spreadsheets, board presentations, and the messy reality that business school case studies rarely capture. The session left the auditorium buzzing.
An equally powerful talk came from a veteran supply chain professional who had managed operations across Southeast Asia. Her account of navigating a major disruption — blending strategic thinking with on-the-ground problem-solving — drew repeated rounds of applause.
The series was not limited to corporate professionals. An entrepreneur who had built and exited two companies spoke candidly about failure, burnout, and the lessons that came from starting over. His honesty struck a chord with students still forming their ideas of what success should look like.
Student LOT teams managed the logistics, communication, and host duties for each session, gaining firsthand exposure to professional event management in the process.
The Industry Connect Series continues to stand as proof that learning at LEAD is not confined to textbooks — it happens in every room where experience meets curiosity.
