LEAD's annual alumni homecoming — a day of reconnection, mentorship, and shared stories between graduates and the current student community.
Alumni Connect — Homecoming 2023 was LEAD College's annual celebration of its graduate community: a full day that brought back alumni from across batches, industries, and geographies to reconnect with each other, meet the current student body, and reflect on how much the institution — and they themselves — had grown.
The day began with a campus walk led by current students, who showed returning alumni the changes made to the facilities, the new programmes launched, and the culture that had evolved. Alumni who had graduated five or ten years prior found themselves moved by both what remained the same and what had been transformed.
The centrepiece of the morning was a panel session titled "Five Years Out" — in which alumni from the class of 2018 spoke candidly about the transition from campus to career, the moments their LEAD education had been most useful, and the things they wished they had done differently. The auditorium was full, and the questions from current students were searching and genuine.
Afternoon sessions were structured as informal mentoring circles — small groups of current students sitting with two or three alumni for extended conversations about career paths, industry realities, and the personal decisions that had shaped their journeys. Several groups ran well over their allotted time.
A networking dinner in the evening brought everyone together without agenda — just food, music, and the easy warmth that comes from shared experience. New friendships were formed across batches; old ones were renewed.
By the end of the day, what struck most observers was not the formal programming but the informal moments: the alumni who lingered at the gate, reluctant to leave; the students who exchanged contact details with people they had met only hours before; the quiet conversations still going on in the corridors long after the official events had ended.
Homecoming is LEAD's annual reminder that education does not end at graduation — it simply changes form.
